AMOC has signed a Term sheet with Intro Utilities to develop a 16 MW Combined Heat and Power (CHP) potentially scaling up to 30 MW, under a BOOT (Build-Own-Operate-Transfer) scheme, with investments of up to $50MM. The term sheet was signed by Chem. Maged El Kordy, AMOC’s Chairman and CEO , and Eng. Hany Helaly, CEO of Intro Utilities. The signing ceremony was witnessed, on behalf of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, by Eng. Mohamed Talaat, General Manager of Energy Efficiency, and Eng. Yasser Nagaty, Assistant General Manager of Energy Efficiency. On AMOC’s side, attendees included Chem. Nagy Abdel Dayem, General Manager of Energy Efficiency; Eng. Moataz Mohamed Salem, Project Manager; and Eng. Naema Hamdallah, General Project Coordinator, in addition to representatives from the company’s various sectors Also in attendance, from Intro Utilities, were Eng. Karim Osman, Business Development Director; Eng. Mahmoud Amr, Commercial Affairs and Project Development Director; and Eng. Karim El Shazly, Asset Management Director, along with a number of the company’s managers. The plant aims to meet 100% of AMOC’s electricity needs and 70% of its industrial steam requirements. The project is expected to generate total savings of at least EGP 174 MM annually, divided as follows: • Financial savings of EGP 49 MM annually for AMOC. • Financial savings of EGP 125 MM annually for the government , resulting from natural gas savings equivalent to 363,000 MM British thermal units (MMBtu) per year. On the environmental front, the plant is expected to reduce the company’s carbon footprint by 15%. AMOC’s selection of Intro Utilities was based on the company’s specialization in providing Utility-as-a-Service solutions. Intro Utilities develops and operates sustainable energy and utility infrastructure for industrial and commercial clients across Egypt, with services spanning solar energy, combined heat and power (CHP), water desalination, and related energy solutions.
