AMOC Leadership Joins Mediterranean Offshore Conference MOC to Shape Future of Energy

A delegation from AMOC led by Eng. Amr Lotfy, Chairman and CEO, participated in the Mediterranean Offshore Conference (MOC) which kicked off in Alexandria this year under the theme “Mapping the Future of the Mediterranean Energy: Optimizing Exploration, Development, And Production With Decarbonization Technologies For A Sustainable Tomorrow “. The three-day event which began today, Sunday the 20th of October, was inaugurated under the Patronage of His Excellency, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The conference brings together key figures from the energy sector including Mr. George Papanastasiou, Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry in Cyprus, in addition to the Secretary General of the Greek Ministry of Energy and the Secretary General of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF). Executives from global energy and technology companies, industry experts and officials from Egypt’s Petroleum Sector are also in attendance. The conference serves as a vibrant platform for fostering cooperation between countries and investors in the Mediterranean with a focus on creating new strategic partnerships and sharing expertise to advance the region’s energy industry. Key discussions are centred on unlocking energy potentials of the Mediterranean addressing the challenges of decarbonization and leveraging innovative technologies for sustainable growth. His excellency Eng. Karim Badawi highlighted the significance of the MOC as a leading forum for the region’s energy stakeholders that offers an invaluable opportunity for collaboration and exchange of ideas. He emphasized that the event not only explores the vast energy resources of the Mediterranean but also paves the way for innovative solutions to the challenges facing the global energy industry. The conference program features a series of key sessions with leaders from the energy sector, international organizations, investors and multinational companies. Discussions provide broader scope that includes practical cooperation in exploring, developing, and producing energy while considering decarbonization efforts to create a sustainable future. The MOC also aligns with the objectives of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum. According to EMGF Secretary General, Eng. Osama Mobarez, the forum’s mission is to establish a regional gas market through balancing supply and demand, optimizing resource management, reducing infrastructure costs, offering competitive prices, and enhancing trade relations.
