AMOC’s Simulated Fire Drill Proves Readiness for Real-World Emergencies.

In a coordinated effort with The First Central Geographical Committee, Alexandria Mineral Oils Co. conducted a simulated emergency drill focusing on a planned fire outbreak at one of its depots. This operational drill, which summoned a three-alarm fire call, reflected AMOC’s commitment to the state’s safety strategies and the directives of Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The drill ensures that both personnel and equipment are fully prepared to handle emergencies efficiently while keeping forceful communication with relevant executive bodies within the Geographical Petroleum Committee. The drill highlighted the excellent preparedness of AMOC’s staff to execute tasks with precision proving the company’s dedication to uphold the highest safety and operational standards. Eng. Amr Lotfy; AMOC’s Chairman and CEO has personally seen the drill’s execution from the operations room and underscored the importance of such drills in improving emergency response plans and ensuring rapid reaction times. He also emphasized the critical need for strict adherence to occupational safety, health, and environmental protection standards in line with the legal requirements to safeguard both personnel and company assets. The drill also included a scenario for medical evacuation using an ambulance and a simulated command process from AMOC’s emergency room. The coordination with the Geographical Committee ensured external support with a fire truck from Alexandria Petroleum Co. arriving on-site followed by an additional fire truck from Misr Petroleum Co. The attendees praised the prominent level of professionalism demonstrated during the drill and the effective management of emergency situations which noted the technical and administrative capabilities of the petroleum sector. The event was attended by Chem. Alaa Amin; Chairman of Alexandria Petroleum Co. and the Chairman of The Geographical Committee of Alexandria Petroleum Region along with the occupational safety officials from Alexandria Petroleum Co., ELAB, and Misr Petroleum Co.
